Arts Awards - Awarded Online

Congratulations to our 3 students who completed their Trinity College Bronze Arts Award this year. We were able to work with Trinity College to arrange a digital moderation so the portfolios could be sent electronically for external marking and, of course, all three passed with flying colours! It was a worthwhile ICT challenge for students and staff to have to send work this way. Here is some of the moderator feedback for 2020:

I enjoyed moderating these portfolios.

It was clear that the young people involved had discovered creative work that they found both interesting and rewarding.

The evidence for Part A was impressive. T

The photographic evidence showed both participation and progression clearly. This was reinforced by the teacher comments as well as student reflection.

Parts C and D were very well evidenced. It was refreshing to read about the Arts Inspiration subjects chosen as these were less common. I understand that some young people find self-reflection difficult; it was therefore encouraging to see that this had been attempted at part D.

Overall these were strong portfolios.

Our "refreshing" inspirational artists:

Victoria Potrovitza - textile artist, ReeRee Phillips - makeup artist, Banksy - graffiti artist.

Our creative work included hand and machine sewing, screen printing, ceramics, makeup, watercolour and acrylic painting, which you can see more of in our Gallery.
