Classroom Christmas Market

Over the past few weeks young people have dedicated some time to crafting hand-made ceramic ornaments and gifts to sell in our Christmas Market.

Working with Becci, from Dylan Ceramics, the students have produced a range of hand-made Christmas ornaments, brooches, earrings and jewellery to be sold at our on-site Christmas Market during the last 3 days of term (Monday 16 - Wednesday 18 December). We are also hoping to create an online store!

Young people have worked with staff to crunch the numbers in the hope that the sale will cover the cost of the resources, using some important day-to-day numeracy skills and considering what their labour is worth. Some of the young people are using this project to work towards accreditation in Enterprise from The Prince's Trust in Personal Development and Employability.

If you would like to purchase something from our market please pop in to the classroom where young people will be practising their customer service and cash handling skills Monday to Wednesday mornings next week (16-18 December). Ceramic items range in price from £5.00-10.00, and Christmas cards are £1.50.
