Renowned leather working film costumier, Michelle Chong, gave us an inspiring workshop this week, teaching us the art of leather accessory creation. The workshop introduced new textiles techniques and we learnt all about Michelle and her incredible career. Michelle has designed and made costumes and accessories for Marvel and Disney on shows/films including Artemis Foul, Gladiators, House of Dragons, Star Wars, Fast and Furious and most recently the Barbie move!
The young people explored the potential of leather craftsmanship. From wallets to book covers, they honed their skills, designing personalised accessories that showcased their individuality as well as a book cover for a game of thrones novel using the original stamp from the latest House of Dragon HBO TV series.
The young people left with some beautifully crafted items, stamped with film worthy designs and sewn together meticulously.
