Moving Minds - Film Making Project Coming Soon

We are excited to confirm this project will be going ahead in the autumn term.

The Moving Minds Filmmaking Project offers young people the opportunity to work in small groups with a professional filmmaker to devise and create their own short film. The project is about exploring and promoting mental wellbeing though filmmaking. It’s also a great opportunity for young people to learn filmmaking and storytelling skills, improve confidence, communication and teamworking skills. Additionally, young people interested in the industry can participate in film career pathway talks and workshops exploring different roles.

Aims for participating groups:

Young people:

• to develop filmmaking and storytelling skills to make their own short film via professional workshops

• to improve confidence, self-belief and sense of achievement

• to have raised aspirations via professional workshops

• to develop essential life skills – communication, teamwork, perseverance & decision-making

Teachers/educators:

• have increased filmmaking skills via training and filmmaking workshops

Wider aim:

to support an open and positive discussion about young people and mental health through sharing youth made shorts in an educational
