Winter Garden

Recently the classroom were lucky enough to recive a visit from our external gardening specialist advising us on how to keep the garden in top shape during the icy winter months in preperation for spring.

Staff and students cleared the leaves from the beds as although the leaves in themselves are harmless there is a possibility that they could have dangerous bacteria on them which in turn may affect the soil and bulbs.

The soil was turned over and all weeds were removed.

We picked carrots, beetroot and spring onions.

New bulbs were planted and now we wait in anticipation until spring to see what the outcome of these will be.

A proud pumpkin which we grew. However insects managed to enjoy it before we did.
