Wonder Woman Review

I did not know what to expect from the film “Wonder Woman”. In my opinion the trailer didn’t catch my attention but the film showed otherwise. Wonder Woman is action packed with some history in between even though the film is fantasy. The message behind the film is very important and I found it very inspirational as Diana (Wonder Woman) did not listen to the people who told her what to do and she went with her heart and fought for what she believed in. in the film the subject of female rights was shown as in the war in which this film was set, women could not fight and couldn’t vote and had much less rights than men. Diana did not agree with this and fought none the less which shows her powerful and inspirational character.

At the start of the film Diana’s mother, Hippolyta, the queen of the secret island Themyscira was bringing up Diana, the only child on the island. Hippolyta did not like the idea of her daughter being trained to fight as she believed that Aries would find her. Going against her mother’s decision Diana trains with Hippolyta’s sister, Antiope. One day a man called Steve crashes a plane in the islands water and Diana saves him. The characters were very well acted. It was very easy to put yourself in the characters shoes and feel their emotions. Diana, acted by Gal Gadot played Wonder Woman incredibly well and she was very committed as she was shooting some fighting scenes while pregnant.

In the film Diana shows the power of women and the right of choice. Wonder Woman was easy to flow with and throughout the film was quite understandable. The camera work was sensational with some outstanding shots. The special effects is what made the movie so spectacular as most of the film would have been filmed with green screen. Although the film was mostly in rubble and war settings, they managed to include beautiful scenes such as the view of Themyscira.

In my opinion I think the film was really engaging and outstanding. I would recommend this film to people of all ages. The only thing I would change would be the trailer as it didn’t catch my eye. I particularly remember the scene where Steve is taking a bath in what seems to be like natural bath shaped rocks filled with sparkling water. It looked very relaxing and I wish it was real so I could go have a swim!

In no shape or form do I believe that the film is aimed at women at all as the men were a big part of the film as the film was set in the war which only males were able to fight. Diana had no male figure growing up but when Steve arrived this all changed as she went with Steve to London and met lots of people. This is the first female super hero movie to come out and I think the director and all the crew who took part in the film made the film incredible.
